Into the Light

In the South African city of Durban, worlds collide. Just one block behind the well-kept beach promenade lies one of the city’s most dangerous neighborhoods: The Point. Here, amid drugs, violence, and rival gangs, Indi and Biggie grow up. Although the ocean was always within reach, the two only discovered surfing through the “Surfers Not Street Children” initiative and, over the years, developed into athletes who can compete even at international surfing competitions. “Into The Light” tells the story of two young people for whom the ocean became a turning point, and of how much is possible when you believe in yourself and keep dreaming.
